Matthew Pavlich will kick off the WA State Conference. In case you missed it registrations are now open for the 2017 WA State Conference. We have an impressive line up of speakers and a range of topics that will allow us to explore the theme for this year – ‘Making The Family Factor Work For You’.

We are very excited about hearing Matthew Pavlich’s insights into his illustrious AFL career along with the challenges and changes retiring from the Fremantle Dockers has presented. In preparation for Matthew’s conference presentation we discussed the topic of handing over the Captaincy to the ‘next generation’ of the Dockers Leadership Team. It became evident that the journey Matthew has been on to transition from Captain to now retired AFL Player could be aligned to that of the Family Business Leader. Facing the challenges of finding a suitable successor, mentoring and guiding them into the leadership role and then preparing for a future outside of the business that has been your identity. This is sure to be a highlight of the conference; click here to register if you haven’t already and I look forward to seeing you there.

Last month members were treated to a fabulous evening at the Family Business Insider event held in March at Linneys Jewellery.  The Linney Family and staff provided outstanding hospitality in a beautiful setting, with a special behind the scenes look at jewellery being made.  Thank you for their generosity in opening the family business to us, these events are a great way to learn about the diverse business of our sector and the inspirational families behind them.
