What did other Next Gen Members think of attending this program?

"Best FBA event I have attended. Amazing, open insight into a successful family business. Great learning from both the success and pitfalls of his family's ongoing journey. Looking forward to meeting the next CEO!"

Eris Hess, AGSERV

"It was a great opportunity to sit down with an experienced CEO with other FBA members and be able to ask questions of them, as well as one another in an informal friendly environment."

Charles W Parsons, Charles Parsons

"I thought this was a fantastic, rare experience and it was a privilege to be able to gain some knowledge and wisdom from such a highly successful and experienced individual. I was really appreciative of Norman's time and FBA's efforts to make this event happen. I will definitely attend any of these events, should they arise in future."

Alicia Mule, Aroma Cafe

"It was very valuable to be able to learn from an established business and successful family in an intimate setting. I would highly recommend it."

Angela Brown, Brown Brothers / All Saints Estate Vineyards

"The program helped me realise that the issues in my family business are similar to many other family businesses regardless of what industry they are in. It was also a great opportunity to understand the dynamics of other businesses and learn from the mistakes of other businesses."

Brad Chan, Banna Property Group

"Richard Owens’ experiences and ideas were great to hear, but equally the group discussion that came from it was every bit as beneficial. The openness and candour of everyone at the table made it very rewarding. Great concept."

Sam Kennard, Kennards Self Storage

"What an event!  The personal and business experiences shared by the CEO and the group were both touching and informative.  The intimate setting allowed all to open up and share solution to various problems posed by the attending group.  Fantastic."

Justin Taylor, T & T Corporation

"This program was a powerful resource for learning from the best. Norman Smorgon's ideals and business learning shows us some basic skills on communicating with clients, staff and the importance of a strong family relationship."

Daniel Masci, GSM Projects

"The event examined the vast and varied world of family business structures, controls and policies it also delved into other family business areas such as remuneration, bonuses, development of family members, conflict resolution and other intangible benefits for family members. Many family structures are governed by the current point of the business cycle and must be continuously changed to accommodate the changing family dynamic. Obviously there are many successful ways to skin a cat. The openness of the members of the program assisted greatly in spirited discussion and debate. I have come away with some great ideas to implement in our own family business."
